Land of Soot and Wandering by Jety-Lefr Land of Soot and Wandering by Jety-Lefr
I really like inventing new planets. It's a lot of fun. This one started out as an image I suddenly had involving a sad ram monster thing looking longingly into an empty landscape. I decided very quickly that it's perfect to replace that huge mistake of mine... that land of chasm and balloons.
This is much better. I did not like that other one. This is going to replace to home planet of Prayma Erufet... who will probably get a make-over himself. I like his name, but pretty much everything else is going to get changed.

So LOSAW is inhabited by very few being aside form the imps and whatnot. It's an empty, arid, inhabitable place where the few things that do live their wander in search of something. Maybe they're looking for water... a home... maybe a lost friend?
Every night it rains down a new layer of ash, blanketing the land in a new layer of lost hope. No trails to follow, to trace of where you've been. Completely lost again... wandering.
The sun never sets in LOSAW. The only indication of time is when the soot falls.

Beautiful, somber, and reflective. I like the ram. Does LOSAW stand for something?

mmm... I not likely to make more of these landscapes soon. I do plan on making more landscape scenes for my other fan-trolls' planets though.

This is wonderful. I really love the description of the planet, and the landscape is just amazing. I'm curious as to what program or medium you used for this. I love making new planets, too, but I've never had the talent for drawing landscapes, and it's pretty difficult to draw something like the Land of War and Turmoil when landscapes and background befuddle you.

Sorry for ranting. Back to my original statement. This is beautiful, and has earned a favorite and a watch.

haHA! Thanks so much.
Well I find it easier and simpler to create the landscapes in a contour way. Basic outline, and keep out the depth.
I used MS Paint, and Photo-shop for the falling soot and lighting.

Ranting is very much appreciated, let me assure you!
And thanks for watching!

That sounds like a much simpler way of tackling it. I always attempt to work out the background first, and it just ends up looking like the foreground, and it's silly. I think I'd like to attempt using MS Paint and PS to create some landscapes. I am no wizard with the two, but this piece is jst too good not to inspire!

And the ranting ensues!
You are quite welcome!

ahha. well thank again.
By the way, I only used 3 Pant tools, and 2 photoshop tools.
You don't have to be a wizard.

Paint = Pencil tool. Curved Line tool. Ellipse Tool.
Photo-shop = Paintbrush tool. Eraser Tool.
